Boiler stack liners
Project Scope
Boiler A Stack Liner – 8,667 sq ft
This boiler liner was in extreme corrosion failure. This stack had multiple holes from corrosion and roughly ¾ of the stack was pitted due to corrosion.
Mandros set up the rigging and man baskets, inspected the stack liner, set up blasting equipment, blasted for weld repairs, cleaned equipment, re-set up to blast, abrasive blasted the entire stack, surface prepped the steel, applied a pit repair material, and relined the stack in just 21 days.
Boiler b Stack Liner – 5,200 sq ft
Boiler B Liner had about 1/3 of the liner repaired in 2019. The remaining liner in the Boiler B stack was in extreme corrosion failure. The stack showed multiple holes from corrosion and roughly 2/3 of the stack was pitted due to corrosion.
Mandros set up the rigging and man baskets, inspected the stack liner, set up blasting equipment, blasted for weld repairs, cleaned equipment, re-set up to blast, abrasive blasted the entire stack, surface prepped the steel, applied a pit repair material, and relined the stack in just 10 days.
Project Details
Both boiler stacks contained extreme corrosion due to years of no maintenance. After the initial inspection, it was clear maintenance was required
Mandros informed the clients of the severity of damage to both boiler stacks. We helped educate the client on proper maintenance moving forward and the plan to repair the stacks in a timely manner.
Mandros moved quickly after the initial inspection, providing the client with a quote by the end of the same business day as the inspection. We set up equipment, surface prepped the interior of both stacks, and completed the relining in a timely manner. We are confident this saved our clients time and revenue by avoiding equipment shutdown. With proper steps taken and thorough documentation, Mandros was able to complete the project within the quality control plan to ensure the proper liner was installed in the short time frame given.
